About

Michael Chutko is a passionate art collector and the founder of The Michael Thomas Collection offering fine art for purchase as well as providing advisory services for those looking to build their own collection. As an avid collector over the past 25 years he has gained in depth knowledge of American Art from early 20th Century Impressionism, 50’s Modern on through the Post War movements of Abstract Expressionism, Pop Art and Op Art.

Since inception Mr. Chutko’s preference has been to collect and deal in works that are outstanding examples by artists who are of historic importance to their particular era but have been forgotten or under appreciated by art world. This enables him to acquire and deal in great works at prices that are a much greater value when compared to many of their peers. Mr. Chutko’s knowledge, instincts and scholarly work have lead to the reintroduction of many important artists greatly increasing the industry awareness from an academic perspective as well as commercial value.

In addition to offering works for purchase, Mr. Chutko also advises clients in building their own collection. His philosophy is that the greater the knowledge a buyer has the greater the confidence they will have when making a purchase. He offers services from the initial stage of identifying the collector’s own art historical and aesthetic leanings, further education of the movements they are attracted to, current market conditions to their eventual purchase as they build their own collection.

Once the collector is ready to purchase he will aid in locating, authenticating, reviewing the condition, and valuation thus protecting the client from over paying and in many instances securing the piece for less than it’s current market value.
